Eoin Morgan eyeing England’s win in World Cup 2015 – Cricket News Update

England’s limited-over specialist, Eoin Morgan, has set sights on England’s triumph in the next World Cup, scheduled to be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia in 2015.
The coach, Andy Flower, has already set the World Cup victory as his next objective. Despite England’s humiliating 5-0 defeat on the recent tour to India, Morgan believes that the Poms are a very good one-day side and have the ability to produce excellent results in the next mega event.
"We've got half an eye on the next World Cup -definitely. If you've got good players, they will improve every time they play and we've shown we can do well in most places, it is just in India where we struggle in one-day cricket. If we look after the here and now and win series as we move forward then we'll put ourselves in a position to win it when we get there," the Mirror quoted Morgan, as saying.
Morgan was an integral part of the Paul Collingwood-led English crew that clinched the World Twenty20 trophy last year. The Anglo-Irish cricketer made his ODI debut in 2006, but played his first International game for England in 2009.
Within a short span of two years, the classy left-handed batsman has become a vital member of the English T20 and ODI teams. So far in his 50-over cricket career, he has played in 71 matches, scoring 2241 runs at a fine average of 38.63.
The pundits of the sport rated him as a future skipper when he led England to an emphatic win in the one-off game against Ireland last summer. At the moment, Morgan is going through a rehabilitation process after a serious shoulder injury that hampered him from visiting India.
And, he is hopeful of resuming his cricket with a bang, saying that he would look to perform in all three formats of the game.
He, meanwhile, aimed to establish himself as a Test cricketer, and expressed satisfaction over his stats in the previous season, admitting that he could have done far better.
"The opportunity was there to establish myself in the Test arena but it has been a slow process,” added the 25-year-old batsman.
