Ponting should not listen to people asking for his retirement: Viv Richards

Former West Indies batting great Vivian Richards has said that fans and administrators must learn to enjoy the performance of greats like Ricky Ponting rather than predicting or asking for him to retire when form is found to be dipping.
Describing Ponting as a magnificent servant for Australian cricket, Richards was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald, as saying: " I am hearing all this talk that he should go and retire; well he shouldn't listen to them. He still looks to me that he is sharp enough, and he needs to help the new guys coming in. It is great for Australian cricket to have that experience around with new blood coming through."
"Ricky's achievements warrant him to dictate how he finishes his career. I love his batting and he is a classy individual," he added.
