Watson, Clarke and Ponting among Australia's highest earning sports stars

Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, captain Michael Clarke and batsman Ricky Ponting have emerged as one of the country's highest earning sports stars.
According to the BRW, Watson earned four million dollars this year and was 11th in their 2011 Top 50 Sports Earners list.
The 30-year-old made 1.8 million dollars in his Indian Premier League (IPL) deal with the Rajasthan Royals, and remains one of the few players to play Test, one-day and Twenty20 cricket for his country, the Herald Sun reports.
Clarke and Ponting both pocketed 3.5 million dollars and jointly hold the 16th spot.
Basketball star Andrew Bogut took the top spot with 13 million dollars.
MotoGP ace Casey Stoner (9.5 million dollars) came in second, just ahead of Formula One driver Mark Webber (nine million dollars).
US Open winner Sam Stosur and surfer Stephanie Gilmore are the only two females to figure in the top 50.
The highest earner from last year to not make this year's list is tennis player Lleyton Hewitt.
